64 pounds of pure love!! Big Billy is a dapper, dappled three-legged gentleman who loves head scratches, belly rubs, butt pats and kisses. In other words, this handsome boy allows all the love from all types of people. He's a happy-go-lucky boy with constant tail wags and sweet, slobbery kisses. He's mastered the head nudge to politely ask for more affection and is happiest when he can be by your side. He enjoys resting his head on your lap for scratches between his brows and will snuggle up in bed with you if you let him! His light green eyes and merle pattern are stunning, too! Big Billy is crate-trained, housebroken, and walks well–with just a little pulling–on his leash. He's easy to redirect and listens like a champ. He comes when called and knows commands like sit, stay and wait. While we don't know where Big Billy once lived, we can tell he came from a home where someone took the time to teach him to be a “good boy”! Big Billy has been in foster care with two adults--a male and female--and a seven-year-old child who he is particularly fond of and absolutely adores. He has a tail-wagging good time meeting strangers and won't hesitate to flop over for a belly rub from the get-go. Big Billy's enthusiasm for small dogs and cats is endearing, but his curiosity may come off as intimidating for cats & little dogs on the receiving end. His laid-back, easy-going personality has good potential for getting along well with other canine companions though he'd be just fine as the only dog in the home as he does love people! Big Billy was found in February as a stray with a broken leg and brought into the county shelter. We presume the injury is from being hit by a car. Unfortunately, due to the severity of the fracture, and the length of time he had the broken bone before he found his way into foster care, amputation was his best option. He had the surgery on April 16th and adjusted immediately to 3-legs. He has since been cleared for adoption without any need for follow-ups or medication and he is now ready to find the "furever" family he deserves!
